Well if that’s you then let me tell you about a lady who came to see me a little while ago, someone who was suffering from ‘Social Anxiety’.
Those two words don’t begin to describe how she felt, since Social Anxiety doesn’t just affect you when you’re out, it also screws with your brain when you’re indoors since most sufferers find themselves ruminating over the many what if’s of what they can do to deal with it – do they try to go out, can they plan a safe way to get to the shops, what if they meet someone or are interrupted on the way, and so on.
Anyhow, in just a few appointments she was able to get back on with her social life free from those nagging feelings of anxiety that had previously plagued her life.
It’s the clients like her that make my job an easy one!
I hadn’t heard from her for a while and then I received the following email.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch sooner. I have really noticed a change in myself since I started my therapy with you & thank you deeply for that.”
Never believe you’re stuck, change is ALWAYS an option.
